Born in Badalona, Barcelona, Catalonia,[1] Hernández started his footballing career at Girona.
Hernández has been described as "handles himself very well when he has to move to the left side, with very quick and different changes of pace".[2]
Hernández is the older brother of Unax Hernández.[3] He is the son of Josep Hernández and Raquel Lorenzo.[4]
