Meron (physics) is a topic that has aroused interest and controversy over the years, and it is important to know all its aspects in order to understand its impact on society. In the following lines, we are going to explore its origin, evolution, and its relevance today. Meron (physics) is a topic that has been studied by different disciplines, which will allow us to have a broad and complete vision of it. In addition, we will see how it has influenced various aspects of daily life, and what the future prospects are. Without a doubt, Meron (physics) is a fascinating topic worth exploring in depth.
A meron or half-instanton is a Euclidean space-time solution of the Yang–Mills field equations. It is a singular non-self-dual solution of topological charge 1/2. The instanton is believed to be composed of two merons.[1]
A meron can be viewed as a tunneling event between two Gribov vacua.[2] In that picture, the meron is an event which starts from vacuum, then a Wu–Yang monopole emerges, which then disappears again to leave the vacuum in another Gribov copy.
