Statue of Clement Attlee Queen Mary University of London Mile End campus 1988 Frank Forster Statue — Unveiled 30 November 1988 in its original location, outside Limehouse Library, by Harold Wilson, the last living member of Attlee's cabinet.[63] The figure holds a copy of the National Assistance Act 1948. In 2005 the work was badly vandalised and was boxed up to prevent further damage; it was removed to its current location in 2010.[64] Peter Mandelson gave the statue its second unveiling on 4 April 2011.[65]

The sphere with its smooth surface stands for the world and the ease with which knowledge can spread and be shared.
